I was a tech exec for 20 years, building some of the software platforms and hardware tools you use every week. I’ve been employee number one, scaling that first company to $500,000 in annual recurring revenue in 18 months, to employee 3,000 at a public company. I’ve built global online communities with over 4 million members across 180 countries.
I had all the hallmarks of traditional success but was quietly burning out. I went from working 70-80 hour workweeks to keep earning my equity, skipping family events, and never having time for what mattered to building a life where my health, happiness, and family come first.
Now, I work 4 days a week with white space on my calendar and time to volunteer in my community while running 2 companies. I can take time off suddenly without worrying if I'll have to face backlash. Success doesn't come at the cost of my well-being or personal fulfillment anymore.
